While I may not love pinterest (short story: you pin things, but don’t do them – and it focuses on what you don’t have instead of what you do) I do really like my wishlist board. It may sound like I’m contradicting myself, but I don’t think so. I pin what my eye is drawn to, and what I love. That way, if I happen to be out and see a similar style at a lower price point, I will know that I really want it and its not an impulse purchase. Also – if I happen to have some extra money on hand – I know exactly how I’d like to spend it.

Here are some recent additions to my wishlist – lots of gold and pretty things:

I haven’t posted a recipe in a while, but the muffins I made last weekend are just too good to keep to myself.  They’re the best muffins I’ve ever made, or had for that matter. And they happen to be vegan. Even better!

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
(makes approximately 12)
2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c granulated sugar
1/3 c vegetable oil
4 very ripe bananas, mashed
1/4 c water
1 tsp vanilla extract
cinnamon, to taste
1 c non dairy semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease your muffin tins. Use vegan butter if you want to keep the entire recipe vegan.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, salt and baking soda. Add a dash or two of cinnamon.

In a large bowl, mix the sugar and the oil. Add in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips. Stir in the water and vanilla until just incorporated.

Add flour mixture, a little at a time and stir until mixed. Add additional cinnamon, to taste.

Fill all muffin cups evenly and bake for 25- 30 minutes, until they are golden brown.

Try not to eat them all at once : )

Some weddings just take your breathe away. This is one of them! I saw this on Style Me Pretty a few days and swooned! Photographer Lisa Poggi did such a great job capturing the gorgeousness of this soiree – it makes me wish I was there! And the dress is just gorgeous – as are all of the sweet little details.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you’re easing into the week nicely. Here are some of the things that are making me smile lately:

Hi friends – Happy Friday! Hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend ahead of you! I think I need to get some serious relaxation time in because in the elevator this morning, some kid asked if I was ok, and said that I looked really out of it. Haha, thats what no sleep, no makeup and no coffee will do. I do have a super fun today planned tomorrow to celebrate St. Patty’s day, but after that – straight relaxing.

Here are some favorites for this week:

The Black Keys!
Went to their concert at MSG on Monday night. Best rock show ever (note – I did not say best show ever. That title still belongs to B. Spears.) If you’re in need of some new music to rock out to, You should definitely download their new album, El Camino!

Michelle Obama –
Did you see how amazing our first lady looked at the State dinner this week? Seriously, she took it to a whole new level. I won’t spoil it for you by posting pics here, but click on the link and check it out. The blue dress was gorgeous, and the accessories were perfection. Her stylist deserves a raise.

All Mine –
I finally got around to ordering this yellow necklace I’ve been lusting over – from this post here! I can’t wait until it gets here and is all mine for ever and ever.

Pinterest Problems-
I’ve been thinking ALOT about Pinterest lately. For those of you who follow me, you have have noticed that while I used to be obsessive, I haven’t been on in a few weeks. There is a reason for that, other than being busy. More to come on my own personal thoughts (legal issues aside) next week, but in the meantime, read this post from Look Linger Love – one of my daily blog reads. She presents great points on the subject, and is worth a read.

Have a great weekend! Wishing you lots of freckles and shamrocks and beer! xo

I’m baaaack! Sorry for the hiatus friends. Long days at work, visitors, bachelorette parties and concerts (yay Black Keys) have kept me busy. But now I’m back!

Are you having crazy amazing weather where you are? Because it is seriously perfect weather here in NY. And it has me thinking about  my spring wardrobe. Here are some of the things that I’m crushing on for the season. Bright colors, open toes and cute accessories!

What about you?

Sunnies
Booties
Pink Bracelet
Pink Sweater
Giraffe Necklace/Polka Dot Top
Yellow Dress

Hi friends, sorry for the long absence. Things have been ridiculously busy – in a good way! Lots of fun happening, but doesn’t leave much time for quality blog posts.

Things will be light for another week or so, then I’ll get back on track.

In the meantime, here are some things that I am LOVING

Alice & Olivia
Everything from the collection is just gorgeous. Like this top, that was made for girls night out!

Blue & Gold
How great is navy blue and gold together? I’m loving it

Dainty Details
I’m loving delicate, dainty gold details. Like an anklet or tiny stack rings

This jacket
Perfection. Super professional and gorgeous. It would look amazing with a bright pink tank underneath.

These succulents
I want them on my nightstand, on my coffee table, and on my desk at work!

Happy Friday Friends. After a very busy week, I’m beyond thrilled to have a very special visitor this weekend, and lots of fun planned! I’m going to one of my favorite foodie events of the year, and seeing Jersey Boys for the first time! I am super excited.

Hope that you relax and have some fun!

Hi friends. Ok, so I lied about the post yesterday. But here you go! While we don’t have tons of funds for major furniture purchases, I’ve been trying to make small changes that make me love our space even more.

But up first – some things that have been around, but I haven’t shown on the blog yet:

We put up the bf’s vintage super hero poster in one of the large hallway walls. It adds a fun touch and takes up a large empty wall:

Our chandelier provides a nice contrast to the super hero poster and some much needed glamour (and yes, this picture made me realize one of the bulbs is out…..)
This is what I see when I wake up every day. Good way to start the morning:

And some new changes:

I’m leaving some of my favorite heels out in my bedroom. I love them layered against my Sex & the City movie poster on the floor. It makes me SOO happy every time I look at them:

How cute are these plates from Pier 1? They’re classic but fun, and they make me smile. Especially when they’re holding dark chocolate oatmeal cookies.

I’ve been wanting this pillow for ages, and I finally got it. Doesn’t it look fabulous with the chevron comfortor?

I’m also keeping some of my favorite nail polishes on my night table, both because I like being surrounded by pretty things, and for easy access:

Instead of keeping corks in a boring bowl, I got this amazingly wonderful polka dot glass vase that I’m repurposing to hold corks, for now. On top of my beloved Lauren Conrad and Domino books!

You like? Hopefully I’ve inspired you to make some small changes around your abode!
